English Pool is played on our 6ft table size, some people can refer to this as a 7ft English pool table it just depends which size you are referring to (6ft is the playing area, 7ft is the total size). It uses 2″ balls which are smaller compared to American pool tables which uses 2 1/4″ balls, and English pool tables also have smaller pockets than American pool tables, all allows for a slightly more challenging game with precision and control required.
An English pool table traditionally has a bright green cloth which you can see on some of the example images below, but you can have a wide array of different cloth colours to match your home decor.

Contemporary English Pool Table
Our Contemporary Pool Table has always been one of our most popular ranges as it boasts a simple yet elegant design with a more modern version of the traditional game of billiards. It’s a great example of a high quality pool table or pool dining table as it allows plenty of leg room thanks to the thin nature of the frame.
The Contemporary table is available in our 6ft, 7ft and 8ft table sizes and for the best game of English pool, we would suggest our 6ft size (which is a standard size English pool table), or if you preferred a slightly bigger playing area then the 7ft table also plays an excellent game.
Rustic English Pool Table
The Rustic Pool Table is a top of the range English pool table, offering a classic design with a touch of tradition. It’s versatile style effortlessly complements various decors, making it a fantastic addition to any space.
Our Rustic table can also be made in any table size all the way up to 12ft so would make a great hybrid table if you were interested in playing both English pool and Snooker on the same table!
